Geography Residential to the Lake District~

Hello everyone! It's been a few weeks since I last posted. On Wednesday I went away to the Lake District with my geography class we stayed for 2 nights and came back today. It was so fun so I'm going to tell you about it. On the way we stopped at for lunch and we seen the beautiful Derwent Waters. We stayed in Borrowdale in a youth hostel, it was actually a really nice hostel and the rooms were always really warm because they were small and had a radiator. We went to do some fieldwork for one of our exams. When we arrived we unpacked and then we went out for a while in the river doing some practice work and people were falling in the river and getting soaking and it was so funny! Wellies were just great to have on but still got wet feet because the water was deep so it went in our wellies anyway. The food was really good first meal was a chicken dinner, it was okay but Thursdays meal was better as it was pizza and chips NOM! We also had soup for starters and custard and cake for desert. Anyway, on Thursday we went out again up to Honister Slate Mine and we measured a part of the river there, placing oranges  in the water and counting how long they take to flow 10 metres to measure the velocity. We also did other things but we got soaking and people complaining they were cold so we stayed of at a cafe at the slate mine where we had hot chocolates, bacon sandwiches etc. On Thursday night we went on this 3 mile walk up and down mountains over waterfalls and it was such a great walk with beautiful scenery anyway, I can't be bothered to go into full details so I'm just gonna stop here but the Lake District is such a beautiful place.

To, Luke Friend~

To, Luke Friend.. My Favourite person on earth. I don't know why i'm writing a letter to you on my blog when you probably won't see it but I just wanted to write this so if you do see this you can know exactly how i feel about such an amazing person (you) The day you set foot on x factor i completely and utterly fell head over heels. It breaks my heart to know i'll probably never have the chance to even be your friend but i'll always be one of the biggest friendies and i'll support you til i'm old and crippled and beyond that. I don't know if you will read this full letter but if you do please let me know because it will mean a lot to know you have read this. Liebster Awards~

Thank you for the Nomination! http://barelybranded.blogspot.co.uk/ <3

So I've been nominated for the Liebster award it seems fun so I'll give it ago :) For those who don’t know this an award created for smaller bloggers to get noticed and connect.

So questions:

1. Something you can’t live without? (beside your phone)
Well this is a hard one because my phone is definitely one of the main things I couldn't live without. I would say my family is something i can't live without but of course that's for everyone so I'm going to go with Luke Friend... for those of you who don't know me I'm totally obsessed with this boy. He's perfect in every way. His cute dimples and dreads. For those of you who don't know Luke Friend, he came third in the x factor in 2013 i was in love since day one and his new single is getting released soon and I'm so excited so you best be all going to check out his music after reading this!

2. Favourite blog?
My favourite blog... well of course its Zoella's.. Zoella is the person who inspired me to write a blog, I found Zoella when i realised i suffered from Anxiety and I was watching peoples stories on YouTube and i came across Zoella's Anxiety q&a and I've loved her ever since!

3. Dark cut crease or neutral smoky eye?
Hm, well I kind of like both of these looks but I think my favourite would be the neutral smoky eye as I don't really suit dark cut creases all that well.

4. Favourite beauty product EVER? (this is a hard one)
Damn you're right this is a hard one... very hard indeed. I have a lot of favourites but I'm going to go with my favourite being the Maybelline Color tattoo 24 hour in shade on and on bronze the reason for this is, till I discovered this product I never ever wore eye shadow because I didn't think I suited it but this cream eye shadow changed my opinion completely! I'm eye shadow obsessed now!

5. Foundation brush or fingers?
Well I think I'd love to say Brush but for me its my fingers..  I've never really gotten used to using a brush I just don't have the brush technique to blend in the foundation so I just use my fingers to blend.. I don't know I just think its easier.

6. What, without a doubt, always makes you smile? (It could be a person, activity or object)
My best friend Emma. We always have our ups and downs and many arguments but I've known her since the start of secondary school and she changed me for the best and I wouldn't be where I am today without her. We have so many inside jokes that no one else understands and we are always laughing at the stupidest of things like when we saw this man in town and he had like one of those pilot hats on and we decided to give him the name moon man.. (I don't even know) but we always laugh at it along with other amazing memories we have together.

7. Best memory?
Best memory, has to be when I met Brad we are a long distance couple and we were together a year before we met and the day I met him was the best day of my life, I do have a video of our first meet that I can post down below if you would like to watch :) Being with Brad in person were the best memories ever and to make this better he's coming to see me again in April!

8. Story behind your blog name?
I don't really have a story this blog did start off being called a-handful-of-lauras-life but I decided to change it to my Instagram name which is laurathompsonxo so yeah no interesting story behind that.

9. If you could live one day over again, which would it be?
Definitely the day i met Luke Friend! I literally nearly cried when i met him and got a selfie with him and listened to him busking on the main street in town!

10. Weirdest thing you've eaten?
Ugh... well I don't think I've ever ate anything weird.. do Muscles count as weird? No not the muscles in your body them muscles you get in a jar in vinegar.. I don't know.. but I really like those and ain't had them in ages.

11. Favourite quote?
We accept the love we think we deserve.

Well I don't think I have anyone I could nominate so yeah hope you enjoyed reading!

Benefit New Roller Lash Mascara (Free with Elle Magazine)

Hey. So, yesterday I was scrolling through posts on Bloglovin and I came across a post that mentioned Benefits new mascara and that it was free with Elle Magazine so I went out today and bought it!

Took a while to find the magazine. I guess because everyone wanted to be first to try out the mascara so most shops were sold out. I checked about 5 shops before I got it but yeah soon as I got it home I tried it out and I've already fell in love. It's a shame it's going to cost around £20 when it comes out because that's' not what I would regularly pay for a mascara, maximum I would pay would probably  be £8. So I need to enjoy this while it lasts, I generally only bought the magazine to test out this mascara I honestly doubt I'll read this magazine because I've never purchased it before and I have no idea what will be in it but please if you're reading this and you've previously purchased this magazine let me know what its like and I may consider giving it a read!

If I'm honest, the Kate Moss mascara that I use which was only around £5 works just as good on my eyelashes but everyone's eyelashes is different and I guess unlucky for some only the expensive top brands make some peoples eyelashes volumized or however they like them. But, I think I will use this Benefit mascara till it runs out and then transfer back to my Kate Moss Mascara as I really love it just as much.

Also, yesterday i uploaded my first ever YouTube video so please go check that out! By clicking this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4Om2pflqGM and please subscribe to my channel!

Britney Spears Curious review~

Curious by Britney Spears has been a perfume I've always enjoyed and the smell always catches my nose when someone is wearing it and it smells absolutely amazing so today I've decided to write a blog on it. Celebrity perfumes are normally cheap and tacky such as the Union J perfume which was only like £8 for a gift set in boots this Christmas and I know from experiences of buying celebrity perfumes that they aren't all that good but for this one it smells amazing, and is really cheap. The smell is a white floral fragrance stated on the perfume shop website and is only £17.99 for 100ml the smell is so strong after one spray and it lasts all day! This perfume is so amazing and i don't think I'll ever stop buying it along with the other perfumes i enjoy such as, DKNY Pink Blossom, Beyonce Heat, Ghost Eclipse and Vera Wang Lovestruck which i may write reviews on in the future. I would definitely  recommend this perfume to anyone and especially to those of you who can't afford the more upmarket perfumes. I'm so happy that I'm writing this blog to share this with other beauty lovers like myself. If you've tried this perfume, let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

L'Oréal Glam Bronze Blonde Sun~

So, I ain't blogged since last year and I kinda realised that the blogs I made were really lame so, I've decided I'm going to start off with doing make up reviews on products I'm currently using so first I'm going to start of with a bronzer I'm enjoying. Now, I've only recently started using bronzers because when I used to they always just made me look orange but that was most likely because I was like 10 and bought the cheap poundland bronzer with my 2 pound pocket money off my Nanna or something. Anyway recently, I saw that Zoella uses bronzer a lot on her make up tutorials on YouTube and it made her skin look really healthy and glowing so I thought I'd go out and buy a bronzer so I decided to buy the L'Oréal Glam Bronze in 00 blond sun and I am really enjoying it, the packaging is great its rose gold which I love that colour! It also comes with a compact mirror and a brush which can apply the bronzer on the skin really good as the brush fits my cheeks really well although sometimes I like to use my powder brush to smooth it around my face. The colour isn't too dark so it just gives my face quite a glowing tan and it's really nice and the first day I wore it to school my friends were like, 'Wow you look a nice colour I think they must of thought I'd been on holiday over the Christmas but  nope, Glam Bronze is so great! So try it out, its cheap and amazing, only £7.99 from Boots but you can also purchase it from Superdrug.
